Last freeze of the season?

Let's hope.  I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who is ready for Old Man Winter to pack his bag and return to his home.  I love entertaining, and I love guests.  But Old Man Winter has overstayed his welcome here at Question Mark Farm.
Enchanting photos of a precious kiddo warming his cold feet by a nice, crackling fire are heart warming and all.  But, I must admit...enough is enough.
This Farmerette is in need of some Vitamin D in its purest form.  I mean, honestly, I have chunky thighs and jiggly arms that are in desperate need of a farmer's tan.  Lets be honest here, we all know that tanned fat looks better than pasty white fat.  I'm not ashamed to admit that the first flip flop tan lines of the year always make me feel 10 lbs lighter, either.  Did I really shed 10 lbs while achieving those flip flop tan lines....of course not!  As a matter of fact, let's not talk about the last time I shed 10 lbs....ha!  I would have to dig deep to remember the last time I actually shed a pound, much less 10 of the bastards, and honestly, the only digging I am in the mood for is in the garden.  But....can I do that today?  Nope!  "Why not? " , you may ask.  Well, it's kind of an unwritten rule that digging in the dirt isn't allowed around here if the thermometer reads 55 degrees or lower.  And since the thermometer reads 38 right now.
....on April 15th 2014, in Somewhere, TX, might I remind you.....there will be no digging in the dirt today.
So, thanks to our extended guest, Old Man Winter, today will devoted to laundry and dusting.  Two things I can promise you that will never be written about on my blog.  Ha!
Until my next post.........

Question Mark Farm ~ A wannabe farm somewhere in The Lone Star State

I actually have a "farm name"....the name we use on our tax junk, the name we use for ADGA, etc....Is it Question Mark Farm?  No, it isn't.  I chose Question Mark Farm for my blog simply because I have issues with humiliation. HaHa.  To me, Question Mark Farm is just so fitting.  I mean...is this really a farm?  What makes a true farm?  Am I really a farmer?  What the heck was I thinking?  See?  In farming, and even wannabe farming, there are lots of question marks.  Sometimes I feel like questions are all that exist, and answers are just elusive, non existent things that you only hear about in fairy tales.
So, here you have it...a hopeful blog about our little wannabe farm, location : Somewhere, TX, population: Us and our menagerie.
I am not going to make any statements about what this blog is going to be about....mostly because, I don't know the answer to that (see?  Answer = elusive, non existent things you only hear about in fairy tales.)  I love to write and share things about our life with friends and like minded folks, but as far as blog content...well, lets reevaluate in about a year.  With any luck at all, someone will happen upon this blog and find a tiny bit of interest and perhaps entertainment in my mangled ramblings about dirt, farm animals, sweat, tears and the like.

Until my next post.......

A Blog in the Making

This should be interesting.
